This help center is to aid our many resellers in a better operation
of their business. We strive to provide many resources for our
resellers so they can grow their business.
Getting Started
Below you will some some general terms used through the reselller
helps.
DNS - the
Domain Name System (DNS) is a distributed Internet directory
service. DNS is used mainly to translate between domain names
and IP
addresses, and to control Internet email delivery. Most Internet
services rely on DNS to work, and if DNS fails, web sites cannot
be
located and email delivery stalls.
NAME SERVERS
- with your own personal name Servers you have complete
management of your domain. Your whois interNIC record will appear
with
ns.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com and you can add your
own
custom configurations to your Name Server using the control
panel.
These configurations are DNS Entries.
NAME SERVER
MANAGER - online GUI that will allow you to view, create,
edit or delete domain information or DNS entries on your Name
Server.
PARKED /
POINTER DOMAINS - are aliases of other domains. For
example, say we have fred.com parked to your main account at
anna.com.
This would mean that anyone who goes to fred.com would automatically
go to anna.com. There is no actual hosting involved with fred.com.
fred.com merely acts as a nickname to anna.com. However Our
Reseller Accounts have the ability to have the parked domain
point
to a sub-directory on your account, so using the same example,
when
anyone goes to fred.com they will actually go to anna.com/fred.
SUB HOSTED
DOMAIN - the ability to have the parked domain point
to a sub-directory on your account, so using the same example,
when
anyone goes to fred.com they will actually go to anna.com/fred.
The
browser will show the location as fred.com/fred.
THIRD LEVEL
DOMAINS - the ability to create relative domain names
without incurring a registration fee from a domain register.
For
example: in stead of the www in a domain you could have:
http://support.yourdomain.com or http://client.yourdomain.com
Your
Part
There are few areas of your web hosting company where you
must take control for your business to succeed. They are Billing,
Support, Service Guidelines, Merchant Services, Website design,
and Marketing.
Billing
When you sign up a client in your control panel your credit
card is automatically billed . Then you can, in turn, bill your
clients whatever amount you like. This gives you the ability
to remain completely independent from TeamMediaOnline.com and
to set your own pricing structure. You have a billing detail
in your control panel that you can track new accounts added
and amounts billed.
Support
We do not provide technical support to your clients. You
are in complete control of your hosting company and we have
no direct interaction with your clients.
Service Guidelines
Since a your client's domains reside on our network,
our Policy and Service Guidelines still apply to resold accounts.
You are responsible for making sure that their clients abide
by these conditions. TeamMediaOnline.com has the right to terminate
any resold accounts or the reseller for violation of these policies.
Order and Merchant Services TeamMediaOnline.com Reseller
Services do not come with Merchant accounts in place. It is
your responsibility to choose an Order/Merchant system that
meets your needs. See our Accept
Credit Cards for more information.
Website Design
The Reseller should be somewhat familiar with html design or
employ TeamMediaOnline.com or another design company to aid
them in the design of their website.
Marketing
One of the most important aspects of your business. Choose a
nitch, then take your message to those groups. For more information
of marketing click here.
