Secure Server
Secure Server Overview TeamMediaLLC.com
provides Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to authenticate
your web site by utilizing 128-bit encryption to secure
transmission of confidential information between you and
your customers. We support Thawte, Verisign, and Equifax
digital certificates (GeoTrust.com).
We provide two options for your use:
1. An interface to install your own, purchased from one
of the above providers.
2. A shared certificate provided by TeamMediaOnline.com.
What's the difference?
For companies who want to truly create a professional
presence you will want purchase your own certificate.
The certificate itself would be branded with your website
name which lends to the credibility of what your customer
is ordering or submitting. A shared certificate is more
functional for those who need the security but don't mind
TeamMediaOnline.com's name branded on the certificate.
Use
of our VirtualONE hostings will need to purchase an IP
address if they want their own SSL certificate. Please
contact support for details.
How to use your own certificate
You must first purchase your SSL certificate from one
of the many authorized services. From our experience the
following are the most used:
GeoTrust (Starting at $149)
Thawte (Starting at $199) Versign (Starting at
$349)
What's the difference? We will let you ponder that question.
To generate your request for the certificate go to your
control panel. The Secure Server option provides
you with instructions for setting up this option.
How to use the shared Secure Server
Your first step will be to verify the server you are on.
To find this information, please go to your Control Panel
and click on Account Management. You will see something
similar to host11.teammediaonline.com under the heading
of "Hosting Server".
VirtualONE Hosting plans:
https://yourhostingserver/~username/yourfile.html
Note:Do include the "s" in https. Do not include the domain extension (i.e. .com, .net, etc) or
the www. in your domain name of this URL. Your.html should
be in your www directory. If you are going to be using
a file in your cgi-bin with the serverwide certificate
you will need to submit a support
request for us to add this permission to your account.
